In Memoriam (HCIM Deaths)

Of all the glorious tragedies in stories you have read,
There’s none so glorious, nor so sad, as the tale of SininZ.
He’d sallied forth in glory, climbed down the deadly hole,
Wherein, the lair of fiercest foe: the dreaded Giant Mole!

Through chamber after chamber, he tracked Old Moley down
His face was bright with valiant fire, his joy dispelled a frown.
At last he came upon his foe, he drew his shining sword.
With slash and jab he drove her back, alone, with no applause.

Then from a distant hazy world, a ring tone did he hear
As if some strange, lone spirit friend would call upon his ear.
His attention thus diverted, he quite forgot to eat!
The fiercesome mole then took her chance and sealed his sad defeat.

So take your heed fair traveller, wherever you may roam,
Don’t leave your player fighting Mole to go pick up the phone!

RIP SininZ

Wild FeLine was a hardcore and a wildy hardcore too,
Forged in the old Wildy when hearts were hard and true,
When bankers never trod the land and the bandit shop took all,
When monsters dropped good armour and salvage ne’er did fall.

When Wildy changed, he changed his name, and dropped the ‘Wild’ for ‘Wary’
And yet that did not put him off from fighting reds so scary!
Twelve red dragons met their fate, beneath his sword they fell.
The thirteenth though, ill-omened one, brought down our friend as well.

Oh tragic end - To die by fire when prayers fade away!
All we fellow Wildlings now will ne’er forget this day!

RIP Wary FeLine!
We will remember!

Wildy FeLine was his name. He’d go to Revs and back again.
He loved the thrill! The danger game! Though now he’ll never be the same.

Alas! That dread and fearful day, when that PKer came to slay,
when FeLine tried to run away, but with his life he had to pay!

The timing could not have been worse. T’was like he was under a curse,
For out of food and off to bank, PKer came with deadly prank!

Our Wildy HCIMs die young, so often they will die unsung,
But when such a one as this doth fall, we shall remember - one and all!

RIP Wildy FeLine
We will remember!

BonetUIM was an Ultimate you see,
Never would he bank, though he played in RS3.
Yet even that hard challenge was not tough enough for him
For he chose the red-skulled way and became H C I M.

His tale is one you’ll not forget, where joy and sorrow meet;
His daring shone as bright as day, his falling was complete.
One fatal day, he made his way through wildy dark and dire.
To slay the Chaos Ele - his obssessional desire!

His wildy goal, his last one, was to gain the Ellie pet.
But fifteen thousand KC on, his time had not come yet!
For just as he was out of prayer and needed to restock
A melee bearing murderer pounced and tried his way to block.

Our hero ran south surging, but alas it was in vain
For the fearful player killer used both barge and surge to gain
His distance on his fleeing prey. At wildy twenty two,
He stunned Bon and then slew him. Our hero’s life was through!

And yet, no longer hardcore, Bonet’s name still shines with glory
He’ll be forever Ultimate; his death won’t end this story.
His twisted birdskull necklace will forever don his breast
And those who know this UIM will be forever blessed!

RIP BonetUIM

Goreset was a warrior, with just one fatal flaw:
He’d never choose to turn and flee, his sword still craved for more.
So bold as brass he ventured out, the giant mole to slay
Yet boldness proved his downfall on that dark and dreadful day.

With magic and with melee he fought through cave to cave
Until he reached the last one where he fought with heart so brave.
And yet alas, for Lady Luck, her favour did withhold!
This caused a minor mole to strike and kill our hero bold.

Good warriors all, with hardcore hearts, take heed from this sad tale,
For caution oft’ can save the day and serve a hardcore well.

RIP Goreset
We will remember!

All praise to thee, O Level Three, the brave and wild Nirdor!
He fast and free, did face Ele, who dragged him to Death’s door.
Let no man say, ‘twas folly that day, that led him to his fate,
When glory calls, all thought of falls will hide the pearly gate.

And yet Nirdor was hardcore, he took precautions still,
And brought an alt, a powerful one, as hardcores often will.
The aggro stayed upon his alt while Nirdor sneaked a blow,
Yet fate that day, saw a stranger stray, pass near, then off did go.

One tiny random moment! Then Ele’s focus gone,
He struck all round and Nirdor found the sound of death’s dark song!

Though death doth rend, 'tis not the end. Our hero’s with us yet,
Though his red skull’s gone forever - blaze of glory in sunset!

RIP Nirdor

Poem for Feral Ivory needed - died to chaos elemental due to auto retal being on (died June 4th 2022) (first page updated for ivory, not yet for Nirdor)

Not a HCIM death, but something equally tragic! I went and dismissed my beautiful little 'Pet of Summer' tree pet from Arbre de Vie by mistake! Gone! Forever! So sad!
Matko wrote this to commemorate the occasion though, which has cheered me up immensely! Thank you Matko!

Gather fellow scapers and let us share our tears,
Remembering Fly Seventeen (XVII) and the end of all her years.
Faithful to the last, she never left her friends,
Major Rancour and sweet Meg, on her, their hope depends.

So head to head with Sliske, she pit her strength and wits
And fearless, led Sliske’s captives both, through crumbling tunnels and pits.
And yet, alas ‘twas fated! Fate never smiled that day;
A crushing rock then fell on her and stole her life away.
Oh that Fly flew faster! Her life she might have saved!
In memory of her bravery now, we weep around her grave.

We will remember

Oh Uhhhhhhmmmm, dearest Uhm, there is one rule of thumb
For all hardcores, I say with a sigh:
Never wander away while you’re character’s at play
If you do, it is likely you’ll die.

Oh alas! This proved true, now his heart’s full of rue,
For his absence did cause his demise,
For when laundry did call, he went off down the hall,
on return, you could hear his loud cries!

With his heart full of hope, Uhm had slipped down the rope,
On the island volcanoes do scar.
He’d run past the red spiders that cause dread inside us,
To the lessers, more dreadful by far!

With emerald bolt, their attacks he did halt
For a while, ‘til he went afk.
Wearing blue dragonhide, to protect him inside
He assumed he’d be safe while away.

Yet hardcores of ages have turned the same pages
Of Fate’s book. Oh alas and alack!
Afk and DC, won’t allow you to flee
And from death there is no going back!

So all hardcores, take heed! In your hour of need
There’s no hope if you are afk.
You must close stable gate, while the horse there still waits
And not after he’s bolted away!

We will remember!

Come gather, hear the sad tale of TheBraveS2
Brave by name, brave by nature, brave through and through.
With trusty rune 2h in hand, he sought the hellhounds dire!
Forged forth into the wildness, yea e’en volcano’s fire!

Thrusting left, thrusting right, they fell to righteous wrath;
To free this land from evil was this brave knight’s sacred troth.
He thought he was succeeding. Alas! - His faith in vain!
For death by scorching fire was his only final ‘gain’.

His gaze was fixed on hellish foes. He clenched his jaw and fought.
Yet descending from the heavens was a ball by fire wrought
Of molten lava, hot and quick, a terror from the air
Which smote TheBrave and cast him down, bereft of thought or care!

We grieve, brave knight, with endless grief. None will forget your fame -
The knight who kept his sacred troth, TheBraveS2, his name!
