Forthcoming Additions to F2P

'Thane' (not sure of his full RS name) has posted the following on Reddit. He's been trying to gather together all the snippets of info that Jmods have let out about the forthcoming changes to F2P. The biggest thing of course, is the fletching skill!

Something in there that puzzled me, perhaps others could shed light on it? Why would we need a saw in f2p? I thought that was only for construction.

I think the saw will be used in one of the quests that are being made F2P.

Ooh yes I saw those! very exciting stuff. Just heard that the Witches house quest will be F2P with the coming update in a bit! Hypeeeeee

Upcoming F2P Updates.
Most of these updates will be packaged together into one big update. Mod Stu has confirmed this on Reddit, Marketing team at Jagex thinks this is a better option. (perhaps to attract new people)

Possible that most of this will be released at the end of October. (not confirmed though!)

Quests

• A Soul's Bane
  - Access to Tolna's Rift (could be a new area for low-mid level players to train, XP/H here is not known yet.)
  
• Broken Home
  - Asylum doctor's ring: requires 30 Defence to wear, +7 to all combat styles. (Best in-slot ring, before obtaining Explorer's ring 4)
  - New emote
  - Any post-quest rewards will remain P2P.
  
• Missing, Presumed Death
  - Currently unknown if the quest will be made F2P. They suspect F2Ps do not know the lore and character within this quest and could confuse them.
  
• Perils of Ice Mountain
  - Ability to smith pickaxes, up until rune.
  
• Priest in Peril
  - Morytania area will remain locked for F2P, quest is intended as a 'teaser' for people to try membership.
  
• Witch's House - Released.

Areas

• Silvarea
  - This is the area east of Varrock, currently fenced off. Digsite area could be included with this.
  
• Warrior's Guild
  - Defenders up until rune can be obtained.
  
• Deep Wilderness
  - Mage bank may be opened up as well.(not confirmed yet)
  - Mage arena will remain P2P.
  - Not known if the cave next to Mage Arena will be accessible.
  - Rogue's Castle will be looked at. (not sure what can be done there)

Boss

• Chaos Elemental
  - Available to F2P together with Deep Wildnerness.
  - Drop table will be made F2P-friendly.

Fletching Skill

• F2P can fletch anything up until t50 equipment.
  - This includes:
   - Crossbows: Bronze - Rune. (mainhand + off-hand)
   - Shortbow/Shieldbow: Normal - Magic.
   - Knives/Darts/Bolts/Arrows: Bronze - Rune. (mainhand + off-hand)
    - Darts will not be smithable, requires P2P quest to unlock this.
  - Unknown if F2P can pick Flax, to craft into bowstring.
  - Magic Trees will be looked into for F2P to chop. (F2P fletching could have an impact on prices hence why they wait.)
  - Flo skill pet (not confirmed)

Other

• Saw will turn into a F2P item. (can be put on toolbelt)
  - A new addition for F2P Completionist.
  
• Dragonhide boots.
  - These will be obtainable in shops and apparently can be crafted by F2P.
  - Could mean that F2P will be able to craft green/blue dhide armour. (not confirmed)
  - Could also mean green/blue dragons will be added to F2P. (not confirmed)
  
• Combat pets
  - This includes:
   - Attack/Strength/Defence/Prayer/Magic/Ranged/Constitution.
  

If all pets mentioned above will be available, it means the total pets will increase from 9 to 17 for F2P.
